The 1990s

The last analog era. The McLaren F1 became the benchmark that stood for over a decade, using a naturally aspirated BMW V12, a carbon fiber monocoque, and a central driving position. The Porsche 993 was the final air-cooled 911, perfecting a formula that began in 1963. The Audi TT applied Bauhaus geometry to a mass-market platform and influenced industrial design far beyond the automotive industry. Pagani built the Zonda in a small Italian workshop, proving that obsession and carbon fiber could compete with factory resources. The BMW Z8 channeled the 507's spirit into a modern aluminum roadster.
